The Email That Landed an Interview
I just received an awesome email.
Most people do not have the…for explicit purposes, we will say…huevos to do what this individual did. We are working on a position for a major retailer in the US that is seeking a Manager of Email Marketing.
This individual sent me a personal email with the subject line – Email Manager. The body of the email was simple words saying… Increased sales 200% over three years. Then he had his signature with contact information. He also attached his resume.
This is what I’m talking about!
In a recent post, Creative Cover Letters, we discussed how cover letters are dead and sales letters are in. This is a pretty bold example of a solid sales letter. Now there definitely could have been more content however the point was well taken and it worked. Not saying that he will be a fit for the position however it called me to action and I will be interviewing him for sure. This interview will give him one more at bat in the job hunting process. I have probably received close to 30 other applicants for this in the lat 24 hours but have not yet contacted any of them. He will be the first.
Curiousity of the unknown is what makes internet marketing successful. Leading your consumer to a point where they will perform some action, click further in or X out.
Thank you John Q Applicant. Your good example of a sales letter made for an intriguing post.
Much Success!
