SUMO RESULTS – Let the truth be told

Let’s just say that things went well for the good guys. The sumo matchup was comprised of four people, each round being a best of five battle, single elimination “tournament”.

First round was between Java and Microsoft with sturdy Sam “The Stone” Corvo putting an end to the threat of Big Dog Dave O’ from Microsoft / Managed Services. It was then my turn and I suited up in my red thong (I really am more fit than this picture shows… the camera tends to add a couple hundred extra pounds). I squared off face to chest against Rosetta’s compact Partner Eric “Bad Boy” Cantini. Hard fought battle. The pressure was intense in the spotlight. The first two matches went in my favor just due purely to me wanting it more. Eric took match 3 making it a 2 -1 series. He won match 3 primarily because I let him. I mean come on, he had 50+ of his employees in attendance cheering him on to victory – I couldn’t let them lose confidence in their leader and secondly because he used his LOWER CENTER OF GRAVITY to grab my ankles and held on like a bulldog. I punished him in the last round which put me into the championship grudge match against Java’s Sam Corvo. Eric is definitely a competitor and winner. Ultimately, in the end, it was Eric’s team that won the entire Practice Wars competition. Congrats to AMEX!

After almost catching my breath we were suited up again. My cut man and trainer got me ready and before I realized it I was inflated up and ready for battle. First match, Sam leveled me with a strong punch to the face. Sam was programmed for the gridiron matchup and wanted blood and two points. At the blow of the second whistle I dug deep and unleashed a winning push out of the ring. Tied 1 -1. Third match I was again caught off balance and lost. Bad Guys lead 2 – 1. Both overinflated competitors were grasping for air when match 4 began. I was being pushed back to almost off the mat when instinct took over and I body slammed big Sam. That’s right, the ole’ hip toss and over the head he went. The crowd cheered the grueling throw. Tied 2 – 2. While “The Stone” was recovering from minor concussion, the whistle blew and Sam was once again tossed from the ring and I lay with two feet inbounds (like a standout NFL receiver dragging his toes) and two points on the board. The crazy fans in the front row jumped on me to celebrate our team’s victory. What a great time.

Big Dog Dave O’ felt great and had enjoyed the experience, Sturdy Sam “The Stone” Corvo asked for a rematch and I think Eric is still recovering. Check out the video for the victory speech. It is truly inspirational.
