No Layoffs — EVER!
CNN Money published a nice article portraying 9 companies that have never had a layoff. Four of the nine are grocery or food service companies. That makes sense, Americans still need to eat no matter what. That seems to be one of those things we just can’t go without no matter how bad the economy gets.
Making the elite list are QuikTrip, Stew Leonards, NuggetMarket, Publix Super Market.
An odd, lone company, The Container Store, made the list. They specialize in just that…containers.
Financial Service companies, Scott Trades and Aflac represent two of the stable companies in the Financial Services vertical. They may be some of the only ones right now.
Of course, the energy companies will make the list. Devon Energy and NuStar Energy are two of the nine companies that have never had a lay off.
So we have food, energy, insurance, and the container store. Is it the industry that we chose for stability or is it the company? The company’s values, ethics, mission statement, vision? I thought this was an interesting report that may bring some value to our day.
