How to Yes / No yourself out of an Interview
To follow up on the post: “How Be Prepared for an Interview” we have the saga of how to effectively expound on interview questions.
Q: Do you have experience with blah?
A: Yes
Q: Do you like the company you work for?
A: Yes
Q: Do you like your boss?
A: No
How about you are no longer being considered for the opportunity to get another interview. This is a tough skill to master…say more than one word. I know at times it may hurt but show me a successful marketing brand today that was sold by a one word answer.
[Razor] – wow! Did you see that commercial? It said Razor. I think I am now motivated to go buy a razor.
People…we are the product. We cannot sell ourselves by simple yes and no answers. It is OK to expound on what you have done, what you like, where your passion lies, etc. A conversation is an even flow of back and forth, give and take.
It can’t be expressed enough, be prepared for an interview at all times, you are always on a stage and you need to be ready to perform.
Break a Leg!
