There is an art and a science to performing well during an interview. So the question remains, how do you answer interview questions successfully. These interview tips may help.
The proper answer to the question will more than likely vary in each situation. What needs to be determined is how to answer the question in a way that is relavent to the person who is asking the question. Interviewing is a performance. The hiring authority is your audience…your customer. Ask yourself first, “What is important to the person asking the question?” Let’s be real. You do not want to lie just to say what you think the interviewer wants to hear. Answer the question correctly but with the spin of what is important to that person.
Hiring authorities want to hear one of two things…
- Will the person that I am interviewing make my job easier?
- Will the person that I am interviewing make me look good or bad in front of my boss?
Whether you are interviewing for a job as a teacher, a nurse, a sales person or an intern there is a common theme. People are selfish and make hires based on what will impact their life in most possible way possible.
