Creative Marketing Job Search Helper

Very curious as to your thoughts on this concept.  I recently read in a post from Cheezhead.com by Jennifer Carpenter and thought the paid service of ApplyForMe.net.

Jennifer wrote, ApplyForMe.net is a new job application completion service meant to help job seekers get as many interviews as possible so they can choose the job right for them. More than 6,500 people are already having the site fill out job applications for them.  The site applies for positions on behalf of job seekers through The Execu Search Group, JobServe, LinkedIn, CareerBuilder, Hound, JobCentral, SnagAJob.com, Trovix, Yahoo! HotJobs, Simply Hired, Monster, Jobster, Indeed and TheLadders.  Plans range from $39.95 per month for up to 30 applications, $59.95 per month for up to 60 applications or $89.95 per month for up to 100 applications.

To learn more about the service make sure you check out www.cheezhead.com or go directly to www.applyforme.net

I have mixed feelings of this service. Firstly I would be concerned that the service is not very personal for an individual.  One of the misunderstandings about the job search is that the mass application to a job post is that you are not the only person applying for that position.  What separates you from your competition? In this service…not much.  You are just another person in the big stack of resumes. The other thing, if you are working and doing a confidential search, where is your information going?  Who is seeing it?  On the other hand, you are paying a service for a personalized HR professional to help you and efficiently apply to the postings which would save you time in the process.

So take it for what it is.  I would rather take control of my own destiny, invest the time effort and energy into my own career and know where my information is going.  I would like to see more from this service and the future of the program.

What are your thoughts?

I agree with you. Honestly, ApplyForMe.net is just plain old stupid. Talent people would never use a system like this and no way does this lead to amazing people, working amazing jobs, at amazing places.

Services like this make me angry. They take advantage of the job seeker and have a negative impact on recruiting. Pointless and stupid.
