Completing an Online Profile
More and more often today there are social and professional networking sites popping up like mad. Due to the amount of sites that require you to complete an online profile there are some basic guidelines that are suggested you follow.
Firstly, the purpose of these sites is to network right? If people come across your profile and it is incomplete, then you can be insured that you will not be taken seriously as a person who one should network with. Also, that is saying that people can even find your profile if it is incomplete. I joined Brightfuse last week (my profile) and started to notice some consistent trends. This was the straw that broke the camels back which caused this blog post.

Here are 3 simple things for you to remember when completing your online profiles:
If you don’t compete your profile in its entirety, then don’t complete it.
- Pay attention to typing issues. Fix the typos!
- Picture: Put a picture on your profile. Your picture completes it. Picture quality is also extremely important. I tend to have the same picture for almost all of my online networking sites.
- Content: This is the most important part of your profile. Quantity and quality matters. Put the right amount of relevant information into the profile. In the quality department this refers to content that people will want to know about you. I came across a profile last week that was titled “The shot girl”. She used to work in a bar and poured shots. Why is this relevant to the people you are wanting to network with?
If you would like for your profiles to be reviewed let me know and I can get some eyes on it.
