Back to the Basics 2.0

The idea that was posted yesterday, Back to the Basics, has gotten my wheels turning. I can’t seem to quit thinking about the ways that I can improve my personal productivity levels by getting back to the basics.

In my profession as a recruiter I decided to dedicate myself to the source that produces the maximum amount of effort, the phone. I have made a goal to be on the phone a minimum of 4.5 hours per day (I may even crank that up to 5 hours a day if I am not producing my desired results) with people that it makes sense for me to be on the phone with. Interactive Marketing professionals. What is the one most effective tool that you need to produce results in your business?
Secondly, I have chosen to get more organized and effectively plan out every single day. I will be planning all of my phone calls the day before so that I can enter each day with a strategic road map and help me go in the right direction.
I feel that planning is something that will allow me to focus on getting back to the basics…know where I am going and a road map to get there. Do you think better planning your day will allow you to be more productive?
The third item on my “Back to Basics” list is re-reading one of the most classic books, Dale Carnegie’s, How to Win Friends and Influence People. I have seven books in my cue to be read. I am just finishing up We are Smarter than Me and have decided to move How to Win Friends to the top of that list. The most BASIC of human interactions is understanding people, understanding what motivates people to be their best. This book is sweet! Have you read this book? If not, read it.
I feel a lot better now to get these thoughts off of my mind.
