And so it begins…
There is a beginning to everything that we do. Most of us tend go with the flow through life and end up where we have drifted over the past few months or years of daily routine. Call it the rat race of life if you will but all of us lift up our heads at some point and ask, “How did I get here?”
I did it all wrong. I needed a good paying job with benefits so I went ahead and did something and answered an ad in the newspaper of all places for a recruiter position. Hasn’t recruiting talent dramatically transformed? After a series of interviews I started with a recruiting agency and learned how to do my job. I learned from the best in the industry and was able to do quite well. That commission check defined my lifestyle. It defined the material possessions I could purchase, the vacations I enjoyed and the way I lived my life.
I picked my head up and realized that I was starring at one of the main characters from the movie Boiler Room. How did I get to be where I didn’t want to be?
I soon learned a new concept. Define – Learn – Do. Successful people set out to accomplish what they want out of life. I am no where close to living this principle. Define what it is that you want, Learn from the people, experiences, material from the sources on how to get what you have defined and the do what you need to do to get what you want to get. I did it completely different up to now. I actually do have a purpose to this ramble. I feel that this can be an excellent collaborative on recruiting philosophies, sales pointers, leadership concepts and my perspective on stuff.
In the first couple of entries I plan on filling the world in on who I am which will validate the information I provide and my perspective. On future entries I will specify more clearly on various topics: nuts & bolts and pyschology behind candidates and clients. This is going to be fun!
